Session to give clarity on the statutory responsibilities of the board regarding Health and Safety
All schools and academies need to have Health and Safety and Premises Management systems and there effectiveness needs to be monitored and reviewed regularly. This session will cover the basic responsibilities of governance boards, maintained schools and academies, in respect of these areas including asbestos management, the escalation procedure, maintenance of building and equipment, self-managed projects, risk assessment and off-site activities.
That boards will fully understand their responsibilities and discharge their duties accordingly.
All governors or trustees but especially any governor or trustee that has a specific responsibility for health and safety on behalf of the board.
