A session that will give an overview of all governors’ and trustees’ statutory responsibilities in regard to safeguarding and child protection and the requirements of the Keeping Children Safe in Education statutory guidance.
It will cover: The session will cover -
- definitions of abuse, and how to recognise the signs, radicalisation, female genital mutilation and child sexual exploitation;
- when to report concerns and when to pass on;
- basic roles and responsibilities of the board in regard to safeguarding children;
- how to respond to allegations against staff and volunteers.
That all those involved in governance will understand their statutory responsibilities
