Support staff networks across North Somerset are enabled, through the specialist communities, to access quality, development opportunities which involve:
• the sharing of effective practice
• high quality input from practitioners sourced for their expertise
• relevant planning in response to need
• leadership and structured co-ordination of groups

• this is an established and recognised/trusted entitlement for support staff
• enables support staff to build links with colleagues and schools and creates a strong support network which staff also access outside of planned meetings
• the opportunity for support staff to expand their knowledge from networking on current local and national initiatives
• that support staff and schools have a CPD record of meetings/training events attended
• the correct procedures are followed for the release of support staff by CPD Leaders in school
• support staff feel valued and that their training needs are being recognised
